About Jonathan Edmondson

I\'m a director, playwright, and the Founding Artistic Director of The Strides Collective, a nonprofit queer theatre company in Philadelphia. After graduating with honors and receiving my BA in Journalism and Professional Writing from The College of New Jersey, I completed the Professional Apprentice Program at Arden Theatre Company in Philadelphia, PA. Recently, I was published in The Best Men’s Stage Monologues 2023 through Smith & Kraus Publishers. My work as a freelance director has been featured throughout the tristate area at locations like The University of Pennsylvania and Kelsey Theatre @ Mercer County Community College. Select directing credits include: Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, Legally Blonde, Funny Girl, Rent, If/Then, Xanadu, Stop Kiss, Proof, and The Heiress. As a playwright, my work has been produced with The Strides Collective, Frigid NY, Revolution Shakespeare, Jersey Fringe Festival, The College of New Jersey, Langhorne Players, and The Ritz Theatre Company. Select playwriting credits include: the pigeon, Whirlpool, and Strides. In addition to theatre, I work full-time in wealth management for a private family office and volunteer on the Board of Directors for a local community theatre.
