ABOUT JONATHAN DOWNS

Currently working in travel security for AXA France, where I apply risk analysis, advisory, and monitoring for international business travel. I am a graduate of International Security at Sciences Po, concentrating on Diplomacy and Global Risks. I have a strong academic background in risks, conflicts, diplomacy and crisis management. Combined with work experience in multicultural settings in both the US and Europe, I am looking for an engaging position in: crisis management, travel security, security coordination, geopolitical risk analysis, intelligence analysis, OSINT, executive protection, GSOC, etc. I look forward to using my listening and diplomatic acumen as an asset in crisis situations, while deepening my expertise in the broader security field. Solution-driven and goal-focused, I am likewise interested working on subjects such as sustainable and equitable development. In advancing sustainable development I am drawn to climate mitigation and climate equality in the agriculture, food systems, and food waste industry. I am likewise interested in circular systems in the food and restaurant industry. I am also drawn to the interplay of religion and conflict and how these factors may influence development progress. I like to work in investigative and research-based settings. My approach to problem-solving focuses on individuals and societies. I find that learning more about individual life experience, influenced by culture, religion, identity and more, is a crucial step to understanding greater socio-political contexts. As such, I have developed strong listening skills, and continue to focus on individuals when addressing new problems. Other areas of interest include: agriculture, environmental protection, energy, food waste, identity, interfaith dialogue, intelligence, investigations, negotiation, open source intelligence, peace and conflict resolution, religion, risk analysis, socioeconomic justice, sport, zero-waste.
