I lead the Capability department within the Aero R&D group at Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team. My team focuses on delivering complex mechanical systems to support the team’s ambition to move forward on the grid.The group was originally formed to support the design and delivery of the new CoreWeave Wind Tunnel — a state-of-the-art facility and the most advanced of its kind in today’s Formula 1. We were responsible for designing and manufacturing all Aston Martin F1 systems, as well as integrating the new technologies brought to the team by our partners on the project.With the wind tunnel now operational, our focus has shifted to the development and delivery of highly specialised rigs and systems across the team. While much of our work supports the Aerodynamics department, we also provide design and engineering support to Full Size areas that don’t have dedicated design capabilities — helping to drive performance across the entire car development process.At the core of what we do is building capability, enabling innovation, and delivering the tools and infrastructure that help the team develop faster, smarter, and more effectively.
