RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: With a primary focus in printmaking, leads development, implementation and maintenance of shopand studio operational systems and in close collaboration with Studio Managers ensures optimalfunction of Oakland Campus instructional 2D studio facilities across Printmaking, Painting/Drawing,and Textiles Programs and First Year Program core studio curriculum. Collaborates with Program Chairs, Studio Managers, and ADSO to develop a comprehensive,evolving, and innovative model of a 21 st century 2D studio environment. Develops policies for studio operation, equipment use, access, and safety; along with StudioManagers, routinely operates and repairs studio equipment, tools, and furniture according toprocedures established by programs or by manufacturers. Maintains a constant presence in the programs’ studios; promotes a safe, professional, hospitable,and accessible learning atmosphere for all faculty and students; acts as a role model for ethical andsafety standards. In dialog with Program Chairs and faculty, reinforces curricular aims and classroom instructionthrough technical and material assistance to faculty and students. Provides ongoing technical assistance and support to the instructional programs; trains faculty andstudents on the use of studio equipment, procedures, and best practices. Provides a high level of technical expertise related to 2D studio practices ; maintains workingknowledge of industry methods and best practices, including environmental sustainability. Works with Program Chairs and Studio Managers to ensure that the studios are prepared andappropriately resourced throughout the academic year; maintains inventory and controls materials,supplies, and equipment usage across instructional programs. Develops and communicates studio access policies and administers procedures to manage studioaccess for students and classes; develops tool checkoutand resale systems; maintains inventoriesof all instru
