Scaling mobile app teams to deliver applications quickly with security and quality!I have been working with technology for over twelve years. During this time, I worked with Mandriva Linux, creating the installation wizard and automating the process with PyGTK and Bash to burn and deliver ISOs on physical media. Afterwards, I worked with COBOL for a while and then participated in a project to implement SAP as a replacement for legacy COBOL systems. In this project, I gained substantial experience in project management.Later, I worked as an Android Developer on the Itaucard App, where I was authorised to create the first DevOps CI/CD process at Itaú Unibanco. I was responsible for acquiring, installing, and maintaining all tools involved, including GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, and Artifactory. The tools were configured to run with Docker and Puppet, supporting internal users.In this process, I implemented a structure using the concepts of “pipeline as code” and “pipeline as a service” with Jenkinsfiles and Extended Shared Libraries, written in Groovy and Bash. The process was extended across all Itaú Unibanco apps, enabling multiple teams to work in parallel on the same apps, with thousands of builds, tests, and releases per week. This successful implementation became the subject of my master’s degree study.Focusing on developer experience to improve quality, I created a Device Farm supporting 364 Android devices connected and accessed remotely. I adapted the Open STF with Angular to run clustered across 13 servers, with each server connecting 28 Android devices via 4 USB ports linked to 4 hubs with 7 outputs. The infrastructure and furniture were fully planned and implemented by me, resulting in a 40 m² showroom with all 364 devices’ displays visible to developers.With this experience, I started working on the PagSeguro PagBank App, migrating the CI/CD process from Jenkins to Bitrise, evolving it, and modularising the Android and iOS apps. These changes gave autonomy to each team, reducing coupling and development cycle times.Technologies used include XcodeBuild, Gradle, Fastlane, BrowserStack, Gherkin, Cucumber, SonarQube, Fortify, Nexus, Firebase App Distribution, TestFlight, Apple Developer Enterprise Program, Google Play, and Apple Store. Most scripts were written in Bash, Python, Ruby, and Java.Furthermore, I have extensive experience with Kanban, Scrum, and the Spotify model. I love coding and solving problems; I am challenge-driven and always seek opportunities to improve processes and delivery quality.
