About Jonas Junquera

Hi, I\'m Jonas Junquera, a Cuban American hailing from Hialeah, Florida. Currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering with a focus in Civil Engineering with a minor in Civil Engineering at the University of Miami.With aspirations to further my expertise, I plan to pursue a master\'s in civil engineering, leveraging my skills to contribute meaningfully to infrastructure development & environmental conservation. Additionally, I plan to get my FE and PE certification in the future in whichever states needed.This past summer I worked as a Roadway/Environmental Engineering Intern in the Transportation Division at The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western. During my time there, I established erosion control and environmental maintenance measures across 30+ acres of land for compliance with DERM, CEI & FDOT weekly inspections. I also partook in 15+ roadway operations meetings where we planned out and executed roadway operations like transportation of segmental bridges/beams/arch segments, concrete re/pavement, traffic closures/final configurations, landscaping/tree disposition etc.I\'ve also worked as an Administrative Assistant at both the Office of Strategic Events and the Office of the President for the University of Miami. In these roles, I\'ve honed my skills on Microsoft Office and got all of the Presidents\' events as well as University events done as smooth and as efficiently as possible.Concerning my extracurricular activities, I am currently involved with AAEES (American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists), Alpha Lambda Delta & Alpha Kappa Psi. I also hold leadership roles in SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers) as an Industry Liaison, Engineers Without Border as a Project Lead and ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) as Treasurer/Construction Lead. My skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office, R and knowledge in AutoCAD, I possess strong analytical and communication skills which has enabled me to tackle complex challenges and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
