As Chief Pharmacy Officer at EmblemHealth, Jonalan leads the pharmacy team for Emblem\'s 2.2 Million members across a number of products (Medicare Advantage, Medicare PDP and EGWP, Exchange, Medicaid, Commercial ASO, Commercial Fully Insured, and Essential Plan). EmblemHealth has an annual pharmacy spend of approximately $2 Billion.Prior to joining EmblemHealth, Jonalan was Pharmacy Practice Leader and Senior Vice President at Excelsior Solutions and Lockton where he led a team of Pharmacy Consultants and Analysts delivering services for Health Plans, Health Systems, and Self-Funded Employers. Jonalan joined the Excelsior Solutions team at Lockton Companies in 2019.Prior to Lockton, Jonalan was previously with Sunflower Health Plan, a subsidiary of Centene Corporation. Jonalan served in several roles during his tenure at Sunflower including Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Pharmacy Services. In addition to being a Managed Care Organization that administered Medicaid Benefits to Kansans enrolled in the Kansas Medicaid program (KanCare), Sunflower also launched coverage to Kansans in the Health Insurance Marketplace under the name Ambetter from Sunflower Health Plan, as well as coverage to Medicare Advantage (MAPD) and Dual Special Needs Plan (DSNP) beneficiaries under the name Allwell from Sunflower Health Plan. Jonalan oversaw all Sunflower\'s Health Plan operations for the Medicaid, Exchange, and Medicare Lines of Business during his time at the plan. He previously held leadership roles with Genoa Healthcare (now and Optum Company).Jonalan has held leadership positions on a number of boards, including being President and Chairman of the Board for the Kansas Pharmacists Association, Vice President of the Kansas Pharmacy Foundation Board, and as a Director on the Oral Health Kansas Board of Directors. His civic involvement includes being a former Commissioner on the Planning Commission for the City of Fairway, Kansas, and serving on the City Council for Fairway.Jonalan earned his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Kansas in 2006, then went on to complete an Executive Residency at the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists. He has also completed executive education at the Washington University in Saint Louis, and is a Fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
