ABOUT JONAH TINER

I’m a clinical registered dietitian with a Master of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics, specializing in pediatric nutrition, diabetes, and endocrinology. Living with type 1 diabetes myself is what first led me to the field—it gives me a unique perspective and a deep appreciation for the daily realities families face. That combination of personal experience, clinical training, and genuine curiosity fuels the work I do every day.I earned my bachelor\'s degree in dietetics through a Coordinated Program at Arkansas State University in 2024, completing ~1,200 hours of supervised practice across food service, community, and diverse clinical settings. I completed my master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics in 2025 and soon after became a Registered Dietitian.I now work as a pediatric endocrinology dietitian at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, supporting children and families managing diabetes, endocrine disorders, growth concerns, and other complex nutrition needs. Over my first several months in this role, I’ve especially enjoyed building meaningful relationships with patients and parents—meeting kids where they are, motivating them through tough moments, and helping families feel seen, supported, and equipped.I have a strong professional interest in diabetes innovation and technology, including insulin pumps, CGMs, and emerging tools that help people living with diabetes feel more empowered in their care. I’m also passionate about navigating the intersection between diabetes management and eating disorder risk, especially in pediatric populations where early support can make a lifelong difference. As I grow in my career, I plan to pursue the CDCES credential and eventually BC-ADM to deepen my impact in diabetes care. My goal is to continue blending evidence-based nutrition with empathy, practicality, and advocacy. I believe that small, sustainable changes, supported by trust and compassion, can truly change lives.
