About Jonah Rodman
Hello! I’m Jonah, a driven and resourceful Public Relations major at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Syracuse University. After beginning my studies in Broadcast & Digital Journalism, I discovered that what I value most in communications is the opportunity to build relationships, connect with people, and shape how stories are told, leading me to pursue PR. Originally from outside of Boston, I was drawn to Syracuse University for its renowned communications programs, strong ties to the sports world, and overall academic excellence. Through my PR coursework and hands-on projects, I’ve gained experience in strategic communication, media relations, brand storytelling, and digital content creation. I’m especially drawn to sports PR and agency work because they combine fast-paced problem solving with relationship-building.Outside of the classroom, I’ve built valuable skills through summer jobs, working as a Little League umpire, and in the bag-room at a golf course, where I regularly interact with parents, players, and members. These experiences have helped me develop strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and quick decision-making—qualities essential in the fast-paced world of PR. Additionally, my ability to balance honor roll academics, sports, a social fraternity, and extracurriculars demonstrates my focus and dedication, traits I know will serve me well as I pursue future internships and job opportunities. I am excited for each and every opportunity in store!
