About Jonah Starr

Disciple. School Counselor. Leader. Hi, my name is Jonah Starr and I am a School Counselor and Coach at Pinnacle High School in Paradise Valley, Arizona. I spent two years earning my Master of Education in School Counseling from Liberty University’s Online program. Before that I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with minors in Communication and Counseling. I love my family, all things involving sports, serving others, and my Christian faith. I have always been hands-on and involved in all the programs that I\'ve participated in throughout my life whether it was playing three varsity sports in high school, participating in multiple mission trips in third world countries, becoming a student leader on a college campus, or coaching multiple high school sports. I pride myself in pouring my heart into all that I do. My career goal is to be in a position where I can impact and touch as many lives as possible. I envision myself preparing students to maximize their self-potential by striving to achieve personal goals through post-secondary opportunities. Through my experiences in athletics, I have learned how to step up as a leader as well as work together with others to accomplish a team goal. In addition, through opportunities in previous jobs, I have become more responsible with my time management and more impactful with my communication skills. My classes in college and moments as a student leader have taught me how to identify and monitor conflict while redirecting the individuals towards the best solution for themselves. “Make everyone feel like a someone.”
