ABOUT JONA MARTINI

One of my greatest strengths as an educator is my ability to mentor and support new teachers. Throughout my career, I have worked with numerous novice educators, providing ongoing guidance and feedback to help them develop their teaching skills and confidence. I have also modeled effective instructional strategies and teaching practices for new teachers to observe and emulate. I have observed and provided constructive feedback to help them improve their classroom management, instruction, and assessment practices.In addition to working with new teachers, I have co-facilitated professional development sessions for instructional staff, focusing on best practices in assessment, data analysis, and differentiation of instruction. I am passionate about helping educators stay up-to-date on the latest research and trends in education to provide the best possible learning experiences for their students.Another area of expertise for me is creating and implementing a school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework. I co-founded the PBIS team at my previous school, collaborating with other teachers and administrators to design and implement this framework. This involved developing clear expectations for behavior, teaching these expectations to students, and providing consistent reinforcement for positive behavior. Through this work, we created a positive and supportive school culture where students felt safe, respected, and valued.Furthermore, I have experience in fundraising and community outreach, having planned and coordinated fundraising events and campaigns to raise funds for school trips, programs, and other initiatives. I also organized and managed a school-wide coat drive, collecting and distributing over 300 winter coats to needy students. Additionally, I developed and managed a school snack store, generating over in profits each year and using proceeds to support students with special needs (eg: students in shelters and chronically absenLastly, I have led a school-wide committee focused on improving student attendance rates, resulting in a 2% increase in student attendance over one school year. I analyzed student data to identify areas of need and develop targeted interventions and supports for struggling students. I have also served as a liaison between the school and the district and community organizations, facilitating communication and collaboration to support student achievement and well-being. Additionally, I am fluent in Albanian, which would be an asset in communicating with families in our diverse community.
