I started working in logistics and supply chain as I begun my 20s, as a temporary employee trying to make a living. Since then, I have held six different positions of progressive responsibility in those 10+ years previous, applying myself and absorbing all aspects of the industry. My experience varies from being an hourly associate, to inventory control, to inventory management, to operations supervision, to operations senior management, and finally plant/warehouse operations consultation. I have spent considerable time working in seven different buildings, differing in size from to 1.7 million square feet, housing SKUs numbered in the hundreds to the tens of thousands. My direct reports have ranged from a handful of hourly individuals, to over 100 hourly associates, to salaried supervisors and managers who in turn manage around 200 employees. I have started up warehouses, closed warehouses, transitioned from one WMS to another, learned and then taught brand new WMS, and even designed and customized pick pattern and pick flow for brand new buildings. Additionally, I have been acting facility General Manager for months at a time, learned and covered for human resource generalists, and even acted as IT liaison for any necessary information technology support.
