Extensive reconnaissance and survey efforts on the new and existing FRTC range lands. Focus has been to identify priority sensitive habitat, confirm presence of priority species of conservation concern on these new lands and establish an in-house monitoring program that will continue into the future. Efforts have included road GIS mapping on new ranges, raptor and eagle nest surveys, monarch butterfly habitat mapping, monitoring wetland habitats and ponds utilized by sensitive species, eDNA water sampling of springs, rare plant surveys, maintaining camera traps, elicit response surveys, small mammal trapping, and pitfall trapping.
