ABOUT JON SAVAGE
I am passionate about delivering improved outcomes for customers, whether they are a Commercial organisation or an individual requiring 1-1 support. The buzz from engaging with another party over an issue or problem, identifying the way forward, driving through the solution to completion and seeing the benefits being realised is what I strive for. After University I began in Local Government through a Fast-track Graduate Management Programme, gaining experience in Adult Social Care, Policy and Performance, HR and finished the programme with 9 months supporting the Chief Executive and Director. I then secured a Project Management role within the Corporate Directorate of Surrey County Council where I delivered various projects related to flexible working, performance improvement (using Lean Methodology), and service restructures. I progressed through various roles to eventually lead and manage a team of Project Managers across the Directorate. At this point I also took on the role of Directorate Performance Manager. This involved developing a basket of performance indicators, developing detailed metrics and tolerances, and linking down into each Service to ensure that accurate and meaningful information was fed to the Directorate Leadership of a regular basis and following up actions to rectify and improve performance where required. In 2013 I programme managed the transfer of Learning Disability Services into a Limited Company. This included the TUPE transfer of c400 staff, assets, novating contracts, and then a programme of improvement activity, including a focus on improving the quality of services, gathering data and addressing issues like sickness-absence levels in staffing. I loved being able to apply my corporate experience within the health and social care sector.I took a career break from September 20••••20 to focus on starting a family and support my wife with her business before looking for roles more local to home. From September 2020 I joined North Yorkshire County Council as a Project Manager during a challenging time in local government. Since then I have secured promotion to the position of Programme Manager within our Projects & Programmes Team :)If you are interested in sharing learning, collaboration or just chewing the fat, please do get in touch, I am always striving to learn more and understand other perspectives :)
