ABOUT JON POWER

I am a professionally qualified strategic planner with over 15 years\' practical planning experience. I graduated with First Class honours from the University of Manchester, with a Master of Town and Country Planning (MTCP) degree. My degree was supplemented by study at the University of Melbourne, Australia; which provided me with a sound understanding of the global strategic issues tackled by the wider property profession.I am a commercially astute advisor with a breadth of strategic planning and development experience that spans a range of sectors – focussed on providing clear, articulate and commercially grounded solutions to complex issues. I have gained a wide range of experience, both in the UK and overseas, which includes providing commercially driven planning and development advice, identifying strategic land and development opportunities, promoting major development sites, preparing advocacy and case-making to underpin major projects, influencing and formulating policy, and preparing major planning and regeneration frameworks.I began my career at Drivers Jonas LLP (now Deloitte), before moving to Australia in 2011 to advise on a diverse range of strategic development, planning and regeneration projects both in Melbourne and across regional Victoria. I returned to the UK in 2015 and have worked in client focussed strategic planning roles at HOW Planning (now Avison Young) and, more recently, as part of CBRE’s national planning and development team.I joined Asteer to lead its strategic advisory service - which includes strategic land, land promotion and providing advocacy and advice on some of Asteer\'s most complex projects across a range of sectors.
