ABOUT JON PLANT

I believe the only way for commercial leaders to deliver sustainable, profitable, industry-leading growth is by creating an environment in which people and teams can give their very best. It’s about thriving teams being fully focused on delivering great consumer/customer experiences to enough people. Profit is an outcome, not the goal. Many businesses seem to have forgotten that growth is driven first, foremost and fundamentally by people. In my role at OxfordSM, I help find beautifully simple solutions to complicated commercial problems. I\'ve partnered with businesses like Unilever, GSK, Mondalez, Vodafone and LEGO to help them build their commercial capabilities and unlock new sources of growth.Moving from the brand side to consulting was driven by my passion for strategy and my fundamental belief that it doesn’t need to be complicated. My 8 years at Procter & Gamble taught me how important it is to focus on people, particularly when the pressure on the business ramps up. I worked in a cross-functional team where everybody’s purpose was to drive the ‘brand’. I saw the power of a capable team engaged in a unified vision to build a brand with a clear purpose. A great example was the partnership between Pampers and UNICEF where my team led the original thinking. I’m proud that this link is still going strong today helping provide the tetanus vaccine to millions of women and their newborns and has contributed to eliminating the disease in 14 countries.
