ABOUT JON LAND
An experienced journalist and editor, I have been writing about social housing and the public sector since 2005 when I set up the successful 24dash.com news website. From September 2010 to September 2015, I was Editor of 24housing, the monthly magazine for housing professionals, where I earned a reputation as a respected and irreverent commentator known for my housing knowledge and comprehensive contact book. As part of a self-sufficient business unit within a much bigger company, I have experience of working at senior manager level within a private sector business. I have more than 15 years’ experience as a manager. Prior to my career as a web and magazine editor, I spent nearly 10 years as reporter and deputy news editor of The Hereford Times. I have an excellent knowledge of Herefordshire, the people who run the county and the issues it currently faces. I was a non-executive board member of Herefordshire Housing for five years. I am originally from London and grew up in Walthamstow. I went to school in Loughton, Essex. In 2015, I joined HQN where I am currently Head of Business Development, Networks and Events.
