About Jon Keeley

I’ve always loved how chemical engineering brings theory into practice—transforming complex science into scalable, real-world systems. In biopharma, I get to do what I love while contributing to therapies that can change lives. My background is rooted in downstream process development—particularly for AAV gene therapies—but my work spans across functions and stages of manufacturing. I frequently collaborate with upstream, drug product, and analytical teams, analyze data across the process train, and contribute to both development and MSAT efforts from early-stage through commercialization. I’ve built process models to support robustness and control strategies, and developed Python-based tools to streamline data analysis, uncover insights, and enable smarter decision-making. Whether scaling up a chromatography step, troubleshooting variability, or simulating system behavior, I bring a chemical engineering mindset to solving problems holistically and sustainably. While I’m currently focused on gene therapy, I’m motivated by the broader challenge of scaling high-impact therapies. I’m especially interested in how process understanding, data, and cross-functional collaboration come together to enable robust, efficient, and compliant biomanufacturing—whether at the bench, on the floor, at the whiteboard, or through code. Long term, I’m fascinated by how these efforts connect to business strategy, lifecycle planning, and operational decision-making—and how engineers can shape not just how therapies are made, but how they reach the world.
