Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.Co-founder and former Managing Director & Head of Research (\'CSO\') at Breakpoint Therapeutics, a VC-backed precision oncology company. Breakpoint exploited decades-long research in cancer biology to identify and validate novel targets and exploit tumour-specific genetic dependencies with drugs for therapeutic benefit. Led strategy and execution to deliver first- and best-in-class drug candidates targeting DNA repair and replication stress pathways in treatment-resistant cancers. These pharma-quality assets are poised for translation into clinical development.Multi-disciplinary scientific background with particular domain expertise in medicinal chemistry, chemical biology and preclinical pharmacology, yielding a track record of lead series, development candidates and clinical-stage asset generation. My involvement in delivery of early innovation programmes, and coaching and mentoring of scientific teams in readiness for investment, has resulted in spin-out companies, contributed to license deals, patents and over €40m in funding raised.Experienced in venture creation, investor engagement and board-level communication, working closely with leading life science VCs and strategic partners. Expert in building win-win relationships based on deep collaboration knowledge garnered from roles in both service provider and client organisations.
