About Jon G. Caldwell

Welcome — I’m glad you’re here. I’m passionate about my work and about life, and over the course of my career I’ve developed deep expertise as a healer, teacher, scientist, and leader.HealerI’m a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in psychological trauma and addiction. As Lead Psychiatrist at Meadows Behavioral Healthcare (MBH) I manage providers, design innovative clinical programs, and deliver specialized psychiatric care to workshop participants. For more than a decade I’ve also been active in forensic psychiatry, providing court-ordered treatment and expert-witness services. I am fortunate to offer a wide range of clinical services in a variety of behavioral healthcare environments.TeacherTeaching is one of my most meaningful callings. For over 20 years I’ve educated individuals and professionals about the impact of childhood adversity on health and well-being. I serve as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Arizona and also teach and supervise PAs and PMHNPs through Adelante Healthcare / Ascend Telehealth and Chamberlain University. Nationally and internationally, I present, facilitate workshops, and mentor the next generation of healers.ScientistAfter completing my medical and psychiatry training, I earned a Ph.D. in Human Development from the University of California, Davis. My research examines how childhood maltreatment affects attachment and cognitive–emotional processes and explores the positive effects of mindfulness and compassion. I also partner with behavioral-health organizations to implement outcome-research processes and translate findings into improved patient care.LeaderLeadership, for me, is about connecting with others. I take pride in recruiting the right people for the right roles, nurturing professional growth, and guiding teams to become dynamic and effective. I’m passionate about systems thinking and helping organizations function at their best. Currently, I’m privileged to guide several progressive behavioral-healthcare companies, like Mantra Health, Carrum Health, and MBH.As humans we long to belong and to connect. Thank you for connecting with me — I look forward to meaningful conversations and collaborations.
