ABOUT JON EHTESSABIAN
R. Ehtessabian was born in Dubuque, Iowa. He graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, in May where earned a Bachelor\'s degree in Biology with a minor in Spanish while playing four years varsity tennis. After spending a year studying language in Costa Rica, Mr. Ehtessabian relocated to Washington, D.C. in August 2001 to attend law school in the evenings at George Mason University while working full-time as a sports agent in professional tennis. In 2003, he dedicated to studying law full-time at the University of Iowa, where he simultaneously pursued a Masters Degree in Spanish. While studying, he worked part-time as a law clerk for the Iowa Coalition against Domestic Violence, and part-time teaching undergraduate Spanish courses. He received both degrees in 2005 and passed the California bar in 2006. Prior to joining Neil Dymott, Mr. Ehtessabian continued to work on behalf of battered women and children as an associate in the San Diego City Attorney’s Domestic Violence Unit.Mr. Ehtessabian was recognized in the San Diego Daily Transcript\'s annual \"Top Young Attorneys\" publication in 2007 & 2008 (finalist). In his first civil jury trial in 2008, he obtained a 12-0 verdict on behalf of San Diego\'s Office of the Public Conservator. He has since tried several high profile cases alongside senior shareholder, Clark R. Hudson. In the community, Mr. Ehtessabian provides active pro bono services, including representation of political asylees and unaccompanied children for Casa Cornelia Legal Aid Center. He also volunteers with the San Diego Surfrider Foundation, where he is currently involved in efforts to reduce consumption of harmful plastics and styrofoam. He continues to spend significant time and energy in Costa Rica where, since 2013, he has been steadily building a business alongside the local community in Playa Negra, Guanacaste to promote progressive health and education.
