ABOUT JON DODWELL

I am accountable for developing Stantec\'s Major Projects capability and capacity across all sectors of the business working with our Operational and Sector Leads to identify and build a pipeline of Major Project opportunities in support of Stantec\'s growth ambitions. The Major Projects Portfolio in Stantec comprises; Design and Construct where Stantec acts as a detailed designer for a contractor; Clients Representative/Advisor where Stantec undertakes responsibilities on behalf of the Client in the oversight and management of contractors delivering complex schemes and Projects and Contracts Management where Stantec provides project management services and contractual advice to Clients on large infrastructure projects.A Chartered Engineer with 30 years experience in leading the design, supervision and project management of environmental projects and programmes, I have undertaken a number of high profile leadership roles within the UK water sector and have significant change management, programme management and business management experience.I have particular experience as a Programme and Project Manager on both infrastructure and non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects and have extensive experience in Project Partnering and leading integrated Client/Designer/Contractor Teams on water and wastewater treatment programmes.I played a key role in the 4D Joint Venture Programme from the outset in 2005 and I gained significant experience and insight into leading and managing change, programme management, internal and external stakeholder management and above all in building and leading high performing teams within collaborative environments (During AMP4 and AMP5, all regulatory outputs were achieved).I was the Director of Engineering and Programme Management for the 4D Joint Venture from December 2009 until May 2013 as well as the 4D Operations Director for MWH (since 2007). I was also MWH’s Board Representative on the Brighton and Hove scheme (£250m).I was Head of Engineering for the eight20 alliance with Thames Water in the ECI phase and MWH’s Client Service Director for Southern Water as well as the Framework Director for the SSP Contract with Southern Water.As Regional Growth and latterly Development Director, I played a leading role in establishing a new water business for Stantec in Ireland working with our JV partner, Ryan Hanley.I am a Fellow of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, a Certified MSP Practioner and a Certified NLP practioner.
