ABOUT JON DEARSLEY
Jon is a Director and Head of Natural Capital. He assesses natural capital and builds strategies for estates to minimise their environmental footprint and engage in nature based solution markets. Jon has significant experience in practical land management, particularly environmental delivery on in hand and third-party land. Having created, implemented and managed a number of large scale environmental land management schemes, Jon evaluates alternative uses of land for private and institutional landowners.Jon joined Savills in 2009 having graduated from the University of Reading with a first class BSc in Agricultural Business Management. Jon is a John Edgar Trust scholar and has a Queens Prize Award.Example Projects:• Decarbonisation Strategy: Working for an institutional owner of let agricultural land, undertake a baseline and provide a decarbonisation strategy.• BNG Delivery: Working for a large commercial developer, identify the financial and non-financial benefits of different Biodiversity Net Gain strategies. • Environmental Master Planning: Working for a private estate, provide a costed 30 year management plan to minimise environmental footprint and access new markets including woodland and soil carbon, BNG, nutrient neutrality, water neutrality and public funding.• Investment Appraisal: Working for an investment client, assess the natural capital opportunities from a significant lowland land purchase including peatland restoration
