ABOUT JON CARLOS RESTREPO

I am a Senior at The University of Connecticut for Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Aerospace - I studied initially at Howell Cheney Technical Highschool in Manchester, CT where I developed many skills in my trade in Carpentry where I learned about 2-D and 3-D CAD modeling for our blueprints for making applications for rough and finished Carpentry - I worked in an apprenticeship for two years in Carpentry where I would be Roofing, Framing, Flooring, and molding just to name a few areas I would touch on- I had been granted the opportunity to attend UConn for free and I took the opportunity without a doubt- During my first two years at UConn I have majored in Civil Engineering where I gained a lot of experience with Construction planning and analysis through Statics and Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, and Basic Structural Analysis just to name a few - After my first internship with Whiting-Turner I was exposed to much of what you would experience within Project Management and Field Engineering on a Large scale as I was contributing to the Yale Neurobiology and Psychology buildings - After this internship, I felt as though I had a lot more capabilities through my work ethic and adaptability that I could contribute to society in a major way and that Is why I chose Mechanical Engineering with Aerospace, I know that aviation is the future and I want to see where life is going to take me with it- Now I have an internship at Lockheed Martin in Advanced Inspection Technology Quality where I am going to further pursue my interests to make a career worth living for- I simply just want a career that I would fall in love with to make working a hobby.
