About Jon C. Inkrott
Born and raised in Sarasota, Florida. Started Respiratory Therapy career in 1993 at Manatee Memorial Hospital. Over my 31 years in the profession I have enjoyed successful positions at Orlando Regional Medical Center, The University of Cincinnati Medical Center, The Christ Hospital-Cincinnati and currently at AdventHealth Orlando. I have served as Adjunct Faculty for Clinical Instruction at Cincinnati State Community College, The University of Cincinnati-Clermont, and currently at The University of Florida Critical Care Paramedic Program. My areas of interest include ARDS and ARDS Research and Prevention; mechanical ventilation, in particular lung protective strategies, prone positioning, advanced ventilation modalities, managing sepsis and SIRS, prevention of ventilator acquired infections, early ventilator liberation; managing the critically ill patient; education, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP, and the ever evolving world that is the respiratory profession. I enjoy speaking and presenting lectures at local, regional, and national conferences. Topics have included Mechanical Ventilation, Lung Protective Strategies and Evidence Based Care in the ICU, Alveolar Recruitment Maneuvers in the Post-Op Cardio-Thoracic Patient, Eliminating VAP: An Inter-professional Collaboration, Patient Safety and the Relationship Between Medicine and Aviation, and Protective Ventilation in Critical Care Transport. I am privileged to be practicing within EMS/Flight Medicine at AdventHealth Orlando and also at JetICU in Tampa as a Flight Respiratory Therapist, yet continue to enjoy the \"as needed\" roles within the ICU and Emergency Department.
