ABOUT JON C FARRAR
Living part of my childhood in West Africa instilled in me a sense of awe about the world, the roots of culture, and the role each of us plays in respecting and seeking to understand what has come before, and what may be on the horizon. Our actions, whether large or small, intentional or not, impact our relationships with individuals and communities, our business and personal dealings, and our sense of how we embrace changes. I turned to Psychology and received honors for the thesis I wrote which explored the history of Creativity research, illustrated the importance of information in the shaping of our perceptions, and proposed Creativity as a foundation for education. My inherent need to understand, solve and explain, carried forward into my business successes. My first job after college began modestly but I quickly gained the attention of management. I was presented with opportunities to approach challenges critically and creatively, to lead and manage teams, and to develop expertise in Operations, Credit Scoring, and predictive modeling and Analytics. That series of positions engendered in me a highly developed service mentality, focused me on risk management and analytics, and resulted in a series of recruitments within the Financial Services Industry. One recruitment gave me responsibility for Credit Scoring operations in Australia, Canada, the UK and the US, and moved me and my family to England for a year to personally drive that affiliate’s development project. While nurturing my career and growing a family, I returned to school to continue my Psychology education, obtained my master’s degree in Counseling, and then interned as a Therapist for several years in a variety of therapeutic settings. My respect for what is ethical and right defines my search for creative solutions to complex problems, and nurtures my Risk, analytical and managerial sensibilities. I have had the opportunity to develop expertise in liaison, analytics, predictive modeling, risk management, operations, lines of defense frameworks and oversight, regulatory oversight, and policy and procedure creation and documentation. I also was regularly invited to present at Industry conferences. Among my engagements as an Independent consultant over the past several years, I led an expert witness team and personally managed analysis and response on more than 35 of the cases that resulted from the 20••••09 secondary market crisis. I am passionate and dedicated to this work and stand ready for new opportunities.Masters Degree in Psychology. Languages: French and Italian
