In this role, I lead initiatives in biomarker discovery, AAV platform technologies, and preclinical development of gene therapies for rare musculoskeletal and neurological disorders. Reporting directly to the Chief Science Officer, I lead a large team of preclinical scientists, molecular biologists, and analytical scientists, driving Science initiatives forward both internally and with external vendors. Key accomplishments include- Discovery and in vitro, in cellulo, and in vivo development of multiple novel drug candidates advanced into IND-enabling and clinical studies- Discovery and development of multiple platform technologies with transformative potential for gene therapy, including novel nonviral delivery systems and cross-correction paradigms- Development of novel biomarkers for CLN3 Batten disease, progressing work from discovery in animal models to validation in clinical samples and deployment as key endpoints in clinical trials.
