Key Responsibilities: Build and lead a Treasury Back/Mid Office function, embedding a culture of accuracy and efficiency, while ensuring appropriate segregation of duties and internal controls. Oversees the following: Treasury Operations: Establishing the annual budget, monitoring and validation of bank fees and interest charges. The cash management process, the daily execution of short term borrowing and investing activity, execution of regular rate updates in the deposit broker channel and preparation of daily/weekly/monthly dashboard reporting.Treasury Data Management and Modelling: Administering and processing the Treasury asset liability management system (interest rate risk, liquidity risk, funds transfer pricing). Mark-to-market valuations of all financial instruments and completion of financial statement note disclosures. Modelling to support hedge accounting requirements. Modelling to support the NHA MBS program and preparation of related reporting. Maintenance of the collateral management system. Creation and maintenance of data feeds to support front office.Treasury regulatory reporting: Supporting Treasury partners with ad hoc data and reporting requirements.Treasury Contractual/Policy Compliance: Measuring and monitoring compliance to all Treasury contractual requirements that support the various funding programs of Meridian and administration of an early warning systems. Monitoring compliance of all Treasury activities relative to Board policies and risk appetite. Championing the Treasury function’s reports pack preparation for various stakeholders i.e. Board of Directors, funding partners, rating agenciesMonitoring and coordination of Treasury’s master standard operating procedures manual.Leadership: Provides leadership, council and mentorship to direct reports. Leads effective performance management processes, employee development plans, succession planning and coaching strategies for direct reports.
