Hi! My name is Joleen, and I\'m a Yale BA student studying Global Affairs with Certificates in Education Studies and German. I\'m passionate about early childhood education in emergencies, particularly for children experiencing forced displacement. In the past, I have interned for UN Women and the Foreign Policy Research Institute, delivered humanitarian aid in the field, and led thousands of student activists as a youth organizer. I\'m interested in expanding my knowledge and experience in humanitarian action amidst migration crises.

   Healing & Empowering: Achieving Resilience through Spiritual Nurture (HEARTS)I help design a co-developed faith-based community psychosocial intervention for survivors of gender-based violence in Puntland, Somalia. The Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)-based intervention incorporates Islamic principles and will be delivered through religious networks. I assist the structuring of the delivery manual, training curriculum, and pilot phase through white and grey literature review and collaboration with the project’s Primary Investigator. The project is advised through Trinity Centre for Global Health and funded by World Vision (Ireland and Somalia).
