Serve as chief tax executive of Morton\'s North American salt business with mining and production locations throughout the US, Canada, and the Bahamas. Company is subsidiary of K+S AG, a publicly traded international resources company, headquartered in Kassel, Germany. The company is Europe’s largest supplier of potash for use in fertilizer and, after the acquisition of Morton Salt, the world\'s largest salt producer. Responsibilities include • Financial reporting related to tax provision, effective rate, deferred taxes,valuation allowances and related support. • Tax planning and compliance including depletion, 163(j) and 385 interest limitations, as well as all domestic state and local taxes. International reporting related to foreign affiliates, transfer pricing, tax audits, and competent authority proceedings. • Forward looking forecasting of effective tax rate and cash taxes considering regular and alternative minimum tax computations, NOL, AMT and State NOL carry forward related effects. • Implementation of Vertex upgrade in an SAP environment as well as tax compliance and provision software. • Direct all tax functions with a team of 5 tax professionals. • Continuing development of tax function to transition to a value added business partner.
