About John Wallerich

With 4 decades working in large enterprise data centers, I have been driving data center energy efficiency since 2002. As Principal Data Center Architect at Intel I authored and deployed the industry\'s first global data center power and thermal optimization service, reducing OPEX while improving IT stability for over 120 data centers and supported more than 4m sqft of greenfield projects. I led the use of CFD tools and authored an assessment methodology delivering actionable results, reducing OPEX, improving the quality and reliability of IT services to the business. As Chief Solution Officer for ServerDomes, I helped re-design and take to market the most advanced data center on the planet and then contributed to Bitcoin mining data center designs. I was the lead thermal design engineer for the 1m sqft Yahoo Frontier IDC in Kitakyushu Japan, a high-performance Tier4 facility. Today, I am the Chief Customer Officer for Fluix, who makes an AI-based autonomous facilities control system for data center cooling infrastructures. Fluix has achieved amazing results in both energy reductions, but more importantly in improving the reliability and capacity of data centers by freeing up wasted power, and related OPEX, allowing data centers to transfer increase compute capacity avoiding the need to build new facilities. I have committed a majority of my career to innovation and customer advocacy providing leadership in energy and carbon reduction, and sustainability for data centers. I am recognized for my innovative designs and global efforts to develop advanced cooling designs for mission critical data centers from Enterprise to Cloud to AI to HPC. As a Global Keynote Speaker for Datacenter Dynamics, I have driven energy efficiency and sustainability efforts for data centers for over 20 years, working with The Carbon Trust, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, and Skanska advancing sustainability efforts for data centers globally. I\'ve held many roles in the data center industry, and am passionate about the correct use of advanced technologies to solve customer business challenges. I serve on the Board of Advisors for multiple companies and startups who are all committed to creating the next evolution of cooling solutions for an industry on fire.
