ABOUT JOHN VERGE

John is CEO of Golden Lane Housing, the award winning transformational national UK supported housing association. He has held various roles within the social housing and care field for over 30 years and led Golden Lane Housing to be ranked number 4 in The Sunday Times best non-profit company in 2020 and number 2 in Top 25 best housing associations list. John has a real passion and drive to change the lives of people in housing need, which began from his first position as homeless officer in Swansea. His extensive strategy and leadership skills which helped drive the growth of Golden Lane Housing by developing key partnerships, capital funding, and innovative housing solutions with commissioners, support providers, and families across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.John has a Masters in Housing Studies from the University of West of England and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing and the Royal Society of Arts. In 2013 he completed an Executive MBA with distinction at Warwick Business School. John plays an influencing national role in the supported housing sector and is currently the Chair of the Learning Disability and Autism Housing Network, a coalition of over 30 housing associations from across the UK. John is Vice Chair of the National Housing Federation Supported Housing Group. John is a trustee of Climb Any Mountain, a charity transforming what is available for people with learning disabilities in South Africa.
