ABOUT JOHN MAJOR

John recently retired from Biamp LLC as Vice President, Operations. John served Biamp from February, 2019 until March, 2024 leading all global elements of Forecast/Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Order Fulfillment, Distribution, Service, Quality and Continuous Improvement. Prior to his work with Biamp, John established Portland based professional services firm, Summit Core Strategies LLC, supporting clients to develop and implement Manufacturing & Supply Chain strategies aligned to the needs of their businesses. John has led the implementation of continuous improvement programs based on the fusion of Strategy Deployment, Lean Thinking, Six Sigma Structured Problem Solving, and Kaizen Methodology at a number of diverse companies across the region and is a founding member of the Northwest Center for Performance Excellence (NWCPE), a collaborative of industry experts and academic institutions dedicated to driving business performance thru process excellence. John is a member of Oregon Entrepreneurial Network (OEN) and an Advisory Board Member for the University of Washington School of Mechanical Engineering. As an active UW alumni, John founded the Greater Portland Area Husky Business Networking Group in partnership with the University of Washington Alumni Association and the University of Washington Foster School of Business.John has over 44 years’ experience leading operational teams within the high tech industry including VP, Global Operations for both Radisys and Planar, Vice President of WW Manufacturing and Global Supply Chain for Tektronix, and VP, Customer Support and Service for Xerox Office Products Group (formally Tektronix Color Printing Business). John holds both a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and an Executive MBA from the University of Washington.
