ABOUT JOHN STURROCK
John Sturrock KC is recognised as a Global Elite Thought Leader in mediation and as \"one of the leading commercial mediators in the UK\" and also “internationally recognised as a major player\" with a practice extending to Ireland, mainland Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He is mediator of choice in major commercial, business, senior management and other sensitive or complex disputes. He is acknowledged by peers and clients as an innovator and excellent communicator. He is also an author and writes regularly in newspapers and other media. He has published two volumes of his \"Mediator\'a Musings\"(available on Amazon).Since leaving full-time legal practice in 2002, John has pioneered mediation and facilitation in commerce, industry, the professions, government, politics, sport and the public sector and has led many high-level dialogues. Also acknowledged as \"one of the best teachers of mediation\", John specialises in coaching for senior executives, decision-makers, sports leaders, government officials and legislators. He has established Core Solutions Group as a pre-eminent provider of mediation, training and facilitation services in Scotland and elsewhere. In 2013, he joined the leading commercial chambers, Brick Court, in London, as a door tenant. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators and, in recognition of his work, received the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws from Edinburgh Napier University in 2010. He was appointed a Visiting Professor at the University of Edinburgh in 2016. In 2018, he was commissioned by the Scottish Government to conduct a review of allegations of bullying and harassment in NHS Highland. His 2019 report was well received across the public sector. He served on the Stewarding Group of Scotland\'s first Citizens\' Assembly. He is the founder of Collaborative Scotland and one of the leaders of the Mediators\' Green Pledge movement.He has been listed in Band 1 in Chambers Guide and described as \"as a leading figure in the UK mediation market.flexible in his approach and. always remaining sensitive to the differing interests of the parties involved\", a \"fantastic listener\" and \"a wonderful communicator with much experience of complex commercial issues\".
