About John Sindahl

When I started in the Distribution world we called it Shipping and Receiving, Warehousing and Trucking. Now all the cool kids refer to it as Logistics or Supply Chain. Whatever you call it, I love it and have an unmatched passion for working in this business. I have worked on the Warehouse side in all size facilities, including the Big Box environment. I have experience working for Truckload and Intermodal Carriers dealing with both Company Drivers and Owner Operators and also have experience with the Brokerage side of the business. I transitioned into the Maritime world with Georgia Ports learning that side of the business. I went back to the Intermodal side helping grow a carrier in the Savannah market and then circled back to the GPA helping move cargo through the second busiest port on the East Coast. Now I’m back home in NC working to make sure agriculture products are moving. I have seen, experienced, navigated and managed countless different environments and challenges as both an hourly employee getting started in the business and as a manager of 150 + employees. I\'m always looking to connect with individuals in the distribution world to collaborate with, learn from and share new ideas.

1. Senior Motor Carrier Freight Planner

   Jan 2025 — Present · Plymouth, NC, US

   Develop freight plans to support grain movements into finished product out of 3 feed mills and 3 crush plants.Work with Grain Merchandisers daily to monitor inventory levels at 6 grain elevators in North Carolina and 5 in Virginia and schedule movements to keep elevators operating at desired service levels.Work directly with farms both during and between grain harvest periods to facilitate movements off the farm to proper facilities.Analyze lanes and utilize backhaul options to keep freight spend at or below established rates.
