About John Schehl

John is now retired after serving 25-years on staff with the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA). His experience in association leadership and the performance improvement/training industry is unique. For decades John maintained his Certified Association Executive (CAE) and was a Certified Solar Roofing Professional (CSRP). Though retired, he still is active in the industry and maintains his professional credentials including a Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) with the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC), and Certified Assessment and Credentialing Professional (CACP) with the Center for International Credentials. He also served the roofing and construction industries as an Authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer. John spearheaded the developing and implementing of high-impact training, education and professional credentialing programs and services that served members of the NRCA and the roofing, waterproofing and roof-mounted photovoltaic (PV) industries. He also developed and delivered technical and safety training in numerous countries across the globe during his career, with a special emphasis on workforce development and construction industry safety; roofing, waterproofing and photovoltaic (PV) system technologies; leadership and management; and engineered asset management systems. John is well-versed in developing and implementing credentialing standards (ISO 17024, ANSI/ICE 1100, etc.). During his NRCA career he served as the staff liaison to its Global Strategy committee; Pro-Certification program committee; ProCertification exams committee; and, as a founding practice leader with The Center for International Credentials John also served on the International Section Council (ISC) of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE); Board of Directors of the Certification Network Group (CNG); six years on the Certification and Accreditation Governance Committee of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI); past chair of the Workforce Safety and Development committee of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA); and, past chair of the Association Forum’s Certification Shared Interest Group.
