About John Rouse
When I was 7 years old my parents enrolled me in Cub Scouts. I really liked Scouting and stayed an active participant until I aged out at 18 years old with the rank of Life Scout. As a youth through Scouting activities and classes in school I developed talents and a fondness in fishing, camping, sports and woodworking. These activities have stayed with me through adulthood, and I still enjoy them. After high school I attended Ricks College for one year then served a church mission where I learned to speak Spanish. After my mission I was back at Ricks College where I graduated with an Associate Degree in sociology. I finished my Bachelor’s Degree in marketing and management at the University of Missouri, St. Louis.I met my wife, Karen, at a church event in St. Louis Missouri. We have two children. Our daughter works all over the country in the hospitality industry. Our son, an Eagle Scout, is finishing up his last year of college and is excited to graduate and get his career started. My family has lived in Missouri, Georgia, Texas, back to Missouri, Michigan and Wisconsin. We enjoy traveling and have had the opportunity to visit many interesting places.My professional career has led me to work in Singapore, Indonesia, The United States, Germany and Canada. During my career I have developed my skills as an inspirational leader with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to be successful. I see people as the greatest asset an organization has. When they are trained properly, treated fairly and given the tools to succeed, they will. I am a results-oriented person with a unique ability to quickly identify relevant patterns and problems, overcome them and proceed. My personality allows me to fit well into any team and immediately start making a constructive contribution to the team and organization. I enjoy my career in Scouting and look forward to continuing it by making a positive addition to the Council I work for.
