About John Reaves
My focus is on engaging organizations and communities with their own futures, helping diverse groups self-organize to define and address opportunities.A current project is extrapolating 50 to 250 years ahead, exploring capabilities and opportunities rather than trends. what might be called a \"spec futures\" methodology. At the local level, I\'m working with small businesses and non-profit organizations on vision and capacity development, supporting civic, cultural and environmental themes.The OpenAccess.Health project addressed the potential for radical (2X to 10X) improvements in care access and equity by leveraging advanced technologies.I\'ve worked with major corporations in a variety of industries - IBM, NTT, GE, Epson, SAP, Microsoft, GSK, Merck, Arm & Hammer, Kraft, Sodexo, PwC, Pratt & Whitney, and Nationwide, among many others.In the non-profit world, I\'ve designed innovation programs like CareLab (long-term care and caregiving); the Art of Science Learning (arts-based approaches to STEM education and innovation); the Global Skill Exchange (online education for entrepreneurship and innovation); the Resource Opportunity Center (new models for learning independence); the Gertrude Stein Theater and Digital Performance Institute (pioneers at applying innovation and technology to the performing arts).Non-profit partners have included the National Science Foundation, Cornell University, the Moscow Art Theatre, the Seoul Center for the Arts, the Annenberg Center in Philadelphia and the Kennedy Center and Smithsonian in Washington.
