The S. S. Huebner Foundation for Insurance Education was established in 1940 by insurance industry leaders and scholars at the University of Pennsylvania. For 80 years, the Huebner Foundation has supported promising doctoral students pursuing careers in insurance and risk management education, and has promoted research addressing important policy and business issues related to risk and insurance. In 2012, the Huebner Foundation relocated from the Wharton School to the Department of Risk Management and Insurance at Georgia State University, and continues its mission to support doctoral education in the areas of risk and insurance.
