I founded Best Practices Solutions LLC to help law firms and title agencies prepare \"Best Practices Manuals\" demonstrating their implementation of the seven \"pillars of best practices\" suggested by the American Land Title Association (ALTA). Following the passage of the Dodd-Frank law and regulations by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, many lenders now require their settlement providers to produce a written Best Practices Manual if they want to continue doing closings for that lender. The number of lenders imposing this requirement is expected to skyrocket by the end of 2014.After expending a substantial amount of time preparing a Best Practices Manual for my law firm, I realized that most title insurance industry professionals don\'t have the time needed to document their policies and practices.
