About John Porambo
I am proof that networking, communication, and initiative can get you where you want to be. Having navigated multiple roles since my transition from the active duty Navy, my new position as a Program Manager for KMS Solutions is what it was all for. My position as a PM for KMS allows me the opportunity to demonstrate the skills I have polished since stepping off of the bus at Navy boot camp over 20 years ago. Still, this is only the first step towards greater opportunities on the path I’ve been striving for. The Navy has taught me leadership, teamwork, networking and perseverance. I have been a Supervisor for the last 10 years of my service. By trade in the Navy I am an advanced RADAR and ballistic missile defense supervisor and have extensive knowledge in electronics, transmitters, antenna, power supplies, signal processing, trouble shooting, and test equipment. As a leader in the Navy, I have managed projects, programs, and personnel on technical and customer service projects. As a Navy Veteran myself, I consider myself as an advocate for ensuring my fellow Vets are successful as they transition out of the service and enter into a new chapter of their lives. I\'ve been able to provide advice, mentorship, career opportunities, motivation, and support for a diverse group of Veterans across multiple industries. The satisfaction I receive from knowing that I had a direct impact on a Vet\'s decision or ability to obtain employment, make a tough decision, or just transition smoothly is greater than anything.The most valuable asset an individual can have is a strong network of peers, friends, business associates, and anyone else that may impact their success. My profile here is for that reason, my network.
