I’ve been continuously employed with stations that are now part of the non-profit organization Iowa Public Radio. I began in 1989 by hosting music programs and managing broadcast operations. In 2008, I switched to journalism. In all these roles, I apply my specialized skill of audio production to make the content on terrestrial and online platforms easier to hear and understand.Most recently, this led me to become the first technical producer for IPR News. I reference my writing, producing, and announcing experiences during the production of stories and shows with reporters and talk show team members. I also act as an intermediate with our engineering, operations, and IT departments.Like with many broadcasters, I’m always involved in many departments. I continue to write stories and host dayparts on IPR News as needed.
