As a CIPD Trust Mentor, I provide structured support and guidance to aspiring and emerging HR professionals, helping them to overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve their career ambitions. This role is part of the CIPD Trust’s mission to make the people profession more inclusive and accessible, particularly for those from under-represented or disadvantaged backgrounds.Key aspects of my role include:Mentoring & Development: Offering one-to-one guidance to help mentees set meaningful career goals, build self-awareness, and develop the skills, resilience, and confidence needed to succeed in HR and people leadership roles.Professional Insight: Drawing on my HR expertise to share knowledge of workplace challenges, leadership expectations, and strategies for career progression, while helping mentees navigate organisational dynamics and professional networks.Championing Inclusion: Supporting the CIPD Trust’s commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion by encouraging mentees to maximise their potential and overcome barriers to entry and progression within the HR profession.Collaboration & Impact: Contributing to the wider goals of the CIPD Trust by helping to strengthen the pipeline of diverse HR talent and sharing in the collective responsibility of developing future people leaders.This role demonstrates my commitment to giving back to the HR community, promoting inclusive career opportunities, and investing in the next generation of HR leaders.
