ABOUT JOHN ONCEA

PIs, CRCs, CRAs, and the rest of those conducting clinical trials often describe their job as rewarding, as they contribute to medical breakthroughs and help drive better patient outcomes. However, they also note the downside: regulatory complexity and extensive documentation requirements, slow recruitment and retention of participants, managing unexpected adverse events and safety concerns, and making sense of the vast volume of data generated by a clinical trial. As the Editor of Clinical Tech Leader, I help clinical research professionals overcome those challenges by leveraging technology to conduct better, more efficient trials. My mission is to bridge the gap between available solutions and the people running studies in the field, from principal investigators to research coordinators to study nurses.Through Clinical Techn Leader, I focus on practical implementation over hype: real case studies from trial sites, side-by-side technology comparisons, ROI metrics that justify adoption, and honest assessments of what works versus what vendors promise.I\'m particularly interested in technologies that address the daily pain points of clinical research: patient recruitment and retention tools, decentralized trial platforms, system interoperability, automated workflows that reduce administrative burden, and solutions that work for community sites, not just major academic centers.I amplify voices from the field and translate emerging technologies, such as AI and remote monitoring, into accessible, actionable guidance. If you\'re working to make clinical trials more efficient, participant-friendly, or data-driven, let\'s connect. I\'m always looking for stories about technology implementations that actually delivered results and lessons learned from those that didn\'t.
