ABOUT JOHNNY K.
I am passionate about education and the part it plays in improving the life chances of young people. Everything I have done and every decision I have made throughout my career, previously as a teacher and now as a senior leader for education in a local authority, has been underpinned by my firm belief that children can succeed, whatever their background. This belief extends to all residents and people. The role the council plays in providing services is crucial for those that are vulnerable as well as creating conditions for all to thrive. I am deeply motivated to support residents in order that they receive a world class service that allows them to become more independent, resilient, self-serving and unlocks their full creative potential.I am proud of my achievements to date. My qualities as a leader support the vision and aims of the council. I am a self reflective practitioner and an adaptive professional. I was born and raised in London by a single parent immigrant. I am a proud father of two beautiful young children of mixed heritage. I have a strong understanding of how diverse communities from all over the world integrate and cooperate with each other through tolerance and respect. I very much enjoy having an opportunity to put in place my life skills, professional skills and expertise to support my core purpose and unfettered determination to ensure that children and young people receive the support they deserve.I am currently Director of Education at Warwickshire County Council with a range of services under my remit including SEND. Forming close relationships between academies, free schools and LA maintained schools is my priority. Facilitating school to school support to raise standards for all young people in the county is a crucial and rewarding part of the role. It allows me the opportunity and great responsibility to work with school leaders to have a positive influence over thousands of young people across the county to maximise their future potential.
