WORK HISTORY
Senior Director, Inventory Technical Program @StackAdapt
CA
When I joined StackAdapt, our inventory product and strategy were still in their early days. Since then, I’ve helped design and scale them into what they are today. My role spanned everything from overseeing supply integrations and platform health, to guiding our inventory product roadmap, to mentoring the inventory department that we built from scratch.I’ve scaled global integrations with all major SSPs like Google, Freewheel, Magnite, Index, Pubmatic, and others. I led or oversaw the technical work behind publisher partnerships with companies like Disney, NBCU, Roku, Spotify, etc. My team and I have supported every major product launch in our inventory stack, from CTV to DOOH to Audio, ensuring not just technical excellence but also seamless alignment across departments. What I’m most proud of, though, is the team culture we’ve built. Our team is the one where collaboration feels natural, where individuals grow into recognized experts, and where solving tough problems is as rewarding as the outcome. I see my role now as guiding strategy, inventory solutions, coaching, and creating the conditions for those successes to multiply.Previous roles: Director, Manager, Senior Analyst, Data Analyst
EDUCATION
Ryerson University
Bachelor of Commerce
ABOUT JOHNNY TAN
Hello! I’ve spent the last six years at StackAdapt building something I’m deeply proud of: a world-class technical inventory program. I started as a data analyst, spending my time in Excel, SQL, Python, and the signals that drive programmatic advertising. Over time, I found my real passion wasn’t just in solving technical puzzles, but in building the teams and systems that could solve them at scale.Today, I lead StackAdapt’s Technical Inventory Program team, where we’ve integrated the majority of our SSP partners, scaled our products across every channel (CTV, DOOH, audio, display, native, video, inventory marketplace), and grown our capabilities from a startup-sized organization to a global one. Along the way, I’ve had the chance to form great partnerships, build awesome technology, and most importantly—coach and develop people, mostly who joined in entry-level roles, and are now shaping the future of our industry, which is something I consider my proudest accomplishment. At my core, I love complex technical challenges, wielding data to solve problems, and building products that last. But what keeps me energized are the people, the culture, relationships, and high-performing teams that make all the work possible.
