About Johnny Hom
When I was a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, I first learned of the promise of computer technology to help build a more connected and intelligent world. I took at class under Prof. Marvin Minsky called \"Society of Mind.\" It shifted my internal paradigm of Artificial Intelligence. I have since in various forms been endeavoring to integrate the latest technologies to build more intelligent systems in the realm of finance. As a young trader and risk management systems developer at Salomon Brothers, I first learned to appreciate the complexities of the modern market and how risk management can go wrong. Having taken a winding entrepeneurial journey through start-ups and my own consulting company I also appreciated the difficulty of trying to standing up technology without deep funding and infrastructure. In my current role at Parametric Morgan Stanley as the Head of the Data Management Office, I believe I have the best of both worlds with mature business and governance, combined with entrepreneurial flare and technology optimism.
