ABOUT JOHNNY DOWNS

I am a Professor of Child Psychiatry and Health informatics (Honorary Consultant) at the Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, King\'s College London. I am the Founding Lead of the CAMHS Digital lab within the King\'s Maudsley Partnership and BRC Centre for Translational Informatics. Most of my research focuses on the use of digital information for epidemiological studies examining risks factors and outcomes for childhood neurodevelopmental and mental health disorders. My interests lie within five main areas – patient portals to enhance patient reported outcomes, natural language processing to refine the data extracted from free-text electronic records, data-linkage to integrate non-health data into clinical record analysis, integration of multimodal sensing technologies, especially speech and actigraphy, to support clinical care. Further information on my work can be found on my KCL profile https://kclpure.kcl.ac.uk/portal/en/persons/johnny.downs.
