At the intersection of robotics, perception, and intelligent control, I lead advanced research and development toward next-generation autonomous systems for manufacturing and field robotic services. My work focuses on bridging the gap between foundational science and real-world deployment—driving innovations in robotic perception, decision-making, and adaptive autonomy. I collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to architect scalable solutions for complex environments, combining computer vision, machine learning, and control theory. My mission is to build autonomous platforms that are not only technically robust but also capable of safe, reliable operation in dynamic industrial settings.In this role, I also mentor emerging researchers, define long-term robotics strategy, and contribute to the company’s intellectual property and technology roadmap. Through a blend of theoretical insight and practical engineering, I aim to advance the state of autonomy from perception to action.

ABOUT JOHN N. KARIGIANNIS
Currently, Technology Manager at GE Research center, at the Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence lab.For over 5 years, worked as Senior Research Scientist at GE Aviation at the Global R&D Centre in Robotics, Automation and Instrumentation. I have been appointed for 6 years Adjunct Assistant Professor at the ECE Dept. at Concordia University. My research interests are in probabilistic robotics, multi-agents, autonomous systems, machine learning, cognitive systems, reasoning under uncertainty, multi-agent architectures with applications in robotics (mobile robots and redundant kinematic chains), computer vision in Health Care, Aviation and Energy domain.I worked for 8 years at the Foundation of the Hellenic World as a researcher, technical project coordinator and finally, the last 3 years, as Head of 3D Graphics & VR Dept. I completed my PhD in Robotics and Machine Learning. My main research activity was on reinforcement learning algorithms, design of multi-agent architecture, for intelligent robot control. In I worked at Intracom S.A for 2 years as a software engineer in the Development Programs Dept. at the R&D Division, where we created an innovative, wearable, outdoor, augmented-reality based, prototype to visualize cultural heritage sites, achieving to earn both, the Science - Education Trophy and the Grand Prix de Jury at the Laval Virtual 2002 competition. I have obtained my Bachelor in Computer Engineering (B. Eng.) in Montreal Canada, at Concordia University from the ECE Dept. Subsequently I have pursued graduate studies (M.A.Sc) in Robotics under the supervision of Prof. R.V. Patel (University of Western Ontario Canada), Co-supervised by Prof. F. Khendek (Concordia University – Montreal Canada).
