Why am I pursuing my DBA instead of a Ph.D? Because I am not a theorist, I am a practitioner. I take theory and show you how to apply it in the real world. The Ph.D is an academic doctorate, whereas the DBA is a professional doctorate.As a Law Enforcement Sergeant at the Richland County Sheriff’s Department with 2+ years of experience in this leadership role, I lead two squads comprising eight Deputies, including four subordinate supervisors. My responsibilities center on team supervision, operational oversight, training, and ensuring the team\'s well-being and productivity. Collaboration and community engagement remain pivotal to achieving public safety objectives and supporting effective crisis response initiatives. With expertise in supervisory management, customer service, and crisis intervention, I am dedicated to promoting ethical leadership and strengthening community partnerships. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), I focus on integrating corporate social responsibility principles and leadership strategies to enhance organizational resilience and stakeholder trust in the law enforcement domain.I view law enforcement as a business that provides a service. The citizens and visitors of Richland County are my customers and my goal is customer satisfaction. Law enforcement is about education and community connection. My team and I strive to help our customers know that we care about them and that we are here to help in any way we can.
